Owner & Instructor
Hi! I’m Suzanne and I’m the owner of Hot Yoga Works. I started practicing yoga in 2004. I started because I heard it was good for people with bad backs and I had back issues, herniations, scoliosis, and a few old fractures from a car accident years prior. I had lived in pain for so long I didn’t hold out much hope, but I was willing to give it a try. For me the classes were hard and painful, but the results were priceless. I was completely pain free after a year of consistent hard work.
I became a teacher in the spring of 2009 and opened my first studio in the spring of 2010. It was here at Hot Yoga Works Bayport that I met my husband, we now have three beautiful kids. I acquired the north shore location in 2018. That felt like coming home as it was the first studio I started teaching at on Long Island. Somewhere in there I also became certified in Vinyasa, Yin, Barkan, Kids’ yoga, and most recently Inferno Hot Pilates. I now lead teacher training, teach classes, and work to develop a strong vibrant yoga community, healthy and supportive for other people’s transformation.
Are you ready for yours?

Dan first stepped into the hot room in 2010 looking to gain flexibility to support his athletic pursuits. Little did he know, the numerous holistic benefits of hot yoga would soon weave their way into his life after a short time of consistent practice. Dan now teaches the 26&2 Original Hot Yoga series and he’s thrilled to guide students through the classes that benefited him so much! Hot yoga not only helped Dan increase flexibility, but also built strength and stability, lowered body fat, reduced stress, enhanced energy levels and improved his immune system. It became a key element of his wellness/fitness regime that helps him enjoy the physically demanding activities he loves such as mountain biking, triathlon, freediving, and hiking.

I discovered hot yoga 20+ years ago in NYC when a friend invited me to join them to attend a class. As a dedicated runner, I found the practice to benefit my flexibility and prevent injury. Over time I became inspired by my favorite teachers and the health benefits of practicing hot yoga consistently. In 2008 I had an accident that led to chronic back pain and mobility issues. My commitment to yoga eventually grew to practicing several days a week and allowing me to live pain free. As a certified yoga instructor my mission is to inspire my students to achieve their individual goals on their well being journey.

Christine is a music teacher, artist, and yoga instructor.
Christine has been practicing Bikram Yoga (26&2 series) for over 25 years. Running marathons and half marathons caused her many injuries, which brought her to the mat to heal. The practice became a constant tool to overcome grief, trauma, and injury. The transformations of the practice; healing her injuries and increasing her mental clarity, allowed her to make the transition from practicing for her healing to having the desire to share this yoga with the masses. Christine decided to attend teacher training. Upon completion of training, she began to teach in several studios on Long Island, New York and in Mountain View, California. In addition to teaching, Christine started to take advanced class, also known as the 84 series, which led her into the world of competitive yoga. For her, participating in competition advances yoga as a sport and provides the opportunity to further her practice. Ms. Brasch has competed at the regional and national levels.
Christine was able to travel and take workshops, retreats, trainings with national and international world renowned yoga teachers. Christine continues to share her insight and expand her practice and knowledge of yoga. She currently teaches at Hot Yoga Works Bayport/Setauket on Long Island, NY and trains with her mentor Cynthia Wehr. Christine shows up on the mat daily to be challenged and balanced in mind, body, and spirit. "

Meet Nicola! A NYC Fashion Industry veteran turned yoga instructor! After 13 stressful years in the business and finding/healing herself through yoga, she decided to leave it all behind to pursue her dream of teaching. Her goal is to help heal her students physically, mentally and emotionally through asana and meditation.
Nicola’s Vinyasa teaching style consists of challenging power flows with non-traditional music playlists. She believes focusing on foundation and strength-building in class are key to gaining a better understanding of body awareness and capabilities. She likes to push her students to think outside of the asana norm with funky transitions and enjoys being creative in her class building.
Outside of the studio, Nicola is also a toddler mom and soon-to-be wife who is currently obsessed with making everything sourdough!

I have hated “exercise” all my life. For years, I tried every type, shape and form, without success. Then, in 2007, I walked into the hot yoga room, and it all changed. It took only one 26&2 class…and I was hooked. This was not exercise. This was a prescription: 2 breathing exercises, 26 postures, repeat. A tapestry of alignment, detoxification, stamina, reliance, meditation, breath and balance, all ensconced in ongoing quest for mastery. Every time I practice, I find yet a new sense of body, mind and spirit. After practicing for 15 years, I decided to become a 26&2 instructor, when Hot Yoga Works offered its first teacher-training program. I decided to become a 26&2 teacher for no other reason than to do my part in continuing the growth of a truly nourishing community that holds space, heals, encourages, and supports. In my class you can expect to find a place of solace, filled with encouragement and compassion, splashed with a touch of humor! It is your practice, it is your journey, I just hope you share it with me.

I started taking Hot Yoga classes 14 years ago at the studio in Setauket. When a degenerative ligament in my right hip and a torn medial and lateral meniscus in both knees were diagnosed, I was unable to run for exercise. In 2010, I searched to find an alternative form of exercise to reduce my stress, and increase my overall well-being. Driving by the large “Bikram Yoga” sign turned my curiosity into action! At that time I was unaware of the medical benefits of yoga in the heated room of 106° and a humidity level of 40% until I took my first class with Suzanne as my instructor!
My practice started out as one time a month, then one time a week and soon I found myself wondering while in the heated 26/2 class, when my schedule would allow me to take another yoga class! The hip and knees issues have improved without surgery, thanks to the dedication and practice of Hot Yoga and its fabulous teachers!Fast forward to Summer 2024, with the guidance and motivation of several people , I decided to take my passion in Hot Yoga to the next level and become a OHYA teacher!
I look forward to teaching for many years and continue my journey as a life time student who is willing to learn each day from my fellow Yogis! Namaste

After 20 years of personal exploration and devotion to my yoga practice, I took the next step in my journey by becoming a certified yoga instructor.
My yoga journey began as a personal quest for balance and vitality, and it has since evolved into a commitment to share the profound benefits of this ancient practice with others. I completed a 200-hour YTT in 2020. I began teaching a Hot Vinyasa class soon after my training was completed at Hot Yoga Works. My Hot Vinyasa classes are planned with theme-based sequences, offering not just a physical workout, but a holistic experience that engages the mind, body, and spirit. I have a deep appreciation for the transformative power of yoga.
I remain dedicated to continuous learning. Whether through daily practice, exploring new teaching styles, diving into insightful readings, or attending retreats.
Besides my love for yoga, I am an 8th-grade Middle School Teacher.

With a long history of ballet dance, Marissa cultivated a deep appreciation for the beauty of movement and the power of a disciplined practice that inspired her to start her yoga journey. Her passion for her own practice led her to guide others along their journey as an instructor. Leading classing in both 26 & 2 and vinyasa since 2021, Marissa's vinyasa incorporates a fusion of her balettic roots to work deeply into the hips and hamstrings emphasizing fluidity, strength and mindfulness.

I ran competitively from an early age throughout junior high, high school, college, competing in cross country, track, and marathon races. Running was all I knew. In my early thirties after a running injury and surgeries sidelined my professional road racing career I struggled to find fulfillment. Without running I felt lost and without purpose. I was then introduced to Bikram Yoga. The practice opened me up in ways I never expected. I found a connection to myself and a deeper understanding of the body and its ability to heal itself. I believe the personal and physical adversities I have experienced have made me a strong and compassionate teacher. It is a true gift to pass on this lineage of yoga and guide others on their journey to calm, balance, and inner strength. I love teaching and helping others find their path to recovery.

In 2001, during my time at Suffolk Community College, I discovered yoga as my elective in gym class. The transformative effect it had on me after that initial session left me in awe, igniting a deep desire to delve deeper into its practice. In 2012, I embarked on my journey into teaching by enrolling in my first teacher training program under the guidance of Lori Gentzlinger. Over the span of 8 enriching years, I diligently studied under her mentorship, earning both my 200 and 300 RYT certifications. Additionally, I expanded my expertise by becoming certified in Tai Yoga Massage, Prenatal yoga, and achieving the status of a certified reiki master.
Since 2014, I've been honored to share my knowledge and passion as an instructor at Hot Yoga Works, where I've been privileged to teach a variety of classes ranging from beginner (gentle) to advanced vinyasa, Hot 26&2, yin yoga, and restorative yoga. Moreover, I've had the pleasure of leading restorative, reiki, and sound healing workshops at both the North and South shore studios.
In addition to my dedication to yoga, I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology and proudly embrace the role of a full-time mother to my beautiful daughter, Mia Angelina. Outside of my professional and maternal responsibilities, I find joy and fulfillment in pursuing my passion for photography.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in fostering enduring connections with my students, nurturing relationships that extend far beyond the mat, and creating a supportive environment where growth and transformation flourish.
